The Agafay Desert is one of the best day trips from Marrakech for pool access. Located just 30 to 45 minutes from the city, several luxury desert camps offer pool day passes that include meals, sunbeds, and views of the Atlas Mountains.
Desert camp pool day passes
Unlike city hotels, Agafay's day passes are run by boutique desert camps rather than large hotel chains. Each camp offers a different vibe, from laid-back afternoon swims to full sunset dinner experiences.
Le Bédouin Agafay is the most affordable option at 450 MAD per person, with pool access from 10am to 6pm and a buffet lunch included. Stellar Desert Camp focuses on the evening, with pool access from 2pm followed by a 2-course dinner and live campfire entertainment for 590 MAD. The White Camel sits at the premium end, offering a sunset pool session from 4pm to 7pm with a curated dinner for 550 MAD, or a full day with both lunch and dinner for 1,100 MAD.
Tips for visiting
Book directly through each camp's website for the best rates. Day passes are popular on weekends, so reserve a few days ahead if you're visiting Friday through Sunday.
Keep in mind that drinks aren't included at most camps, so factor that into your budget. The desert can get very hot in summer, so bring plenty of sunscreen and a hat. Some camps offer optional add-ons like camel rides and quad biking if you want to make a full day of it.
If you're staying in Marrakech, most camps can arrange a transfer. Otherwise, a taxi from the medina typically costs around 200 to 300 MAD each way.
