Where to stay in Calvi
Calvi is a working yachting town wrapped around a Genoese citadel, so where you base yourself depends on whether you want old-town character, marina energy, or beach access. The citadel and lower old town put you steps from the harbour restaurants and a short walk from the bay, and Hôtel L'Acquale sits right in that mix, a five-minute walk from both the citadel and the marina.
If you'd rather wake up on the sand, the long pine-backed beach east of town has its own strip of hotels, and Le Calvi Hôtel is close enough to walk to both the beach and the centre, with free parking thrown in, which is hard to come by here in summer.
For something quieter and more upscale, La Signoria sits in its own parkland just outside town, a good pick if you want a pool and spa without the marina crowds.
